I just 'discovered' Kellee Maize this evening and I really don't know what to think. I found her by googling 'white political female rappers', seeing how I'm going to be writing some lyrics for this project and wondered if there were any intelligent white rapper girls out there. I must admit, my initial reaction is aversion... all the new age language kinda gives me the eebie jeebies, even though I'm 'sort of' down with sum of that stuff and am into the festival scene. It looks so contrived being a white blonde girl rapping about mayan apocalypse and whatnot and dancing with an all black girl dance crew (not sure if that's in this video... but it's in a few of them). Maybe I'm just adversed to it because it's the closest thing to what I'm about to do and I'm terrified of making a fool of myself!!
More on this later... ps. if anyone is reading this blog it's FAR from ready. I'm haven't officially started working on it yet, i'm juts posting some stuff so I don't forget it!
